LET US GIVE YOU SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN SELL YOUR ADVERTISERS IN ADDITION TO AIRTIME ADVERTISING DURING MOONLIGHT: US, ITS ONLINE FAN-BASE WE ONLINE FANS CAN USE OUR MOONLIGHT "BANNERS" (I.E. PICTURES) TO MENTION THE PRODUCTS OF COMPANIES SPONSORING MOONLIGHT, in any legal way you shall see fit. Such "banners" are used on forums, and on MYSPACE and FACEBOOK. We could also post banners specifically designed to express gratitude to the sponsors, again mentioning their products. And of course we can mention the network itself, and its other shows, too. Moonlight's fans want to help make Moonlight profitable for the network that adopts the show. By now we realise that this is the only way for a show to stay on the air, no matter what its artistic qualities. We believe that you can use the Moonlight fan-base as an argument to attract advertisers, notably by making them the above offer. Through their online presence on forums, but also myspace and facebook, Moonlight fans have access to precisely the target audience that your advertisers are interested in. This is true as well of our members who do not belong to this target audience: surprisingly perhaps, they too are very present on the internet for the sake of sharing their passion for Moonlight. They therefore constitute just as precious a resource for this project than the people your advertisers are directly interested in. And we can reach them BEYOND the Moonlight fan-base, thanks to myspace and facebook. As a network, this would give you something more to sell to your advertisers than merely the airtime viewers: you would sell them the advertising services of the "rabid" Moonlight fan-base, too (which would come for free for the network) We believe that this is likely to have a greater impact than the MySpace, etc... adds, at least initially, because it is still unusual, so it would attract attention. This would be true beyond the fan-base. In addition, within the fan-base, we know that these are the products of companies that pay for the show to be on the air. Consequently, we notice these products, AND we feel grateful towards the company and are more inclined to buy these products in support. We already have a tradition of writing to companies that advertise during Moonlight to express our gratitude for their support of the show, and state that we are buying their products in recognition of it. The present offer is an extension of this tradition. Although it is difficult to estimate our exact numbers online, the fact that Moonlight was voted "best new drama" in the People's Choice Award by 10 million votes, with voting taking place on a site that allowed people to vote only once a day is, we believe, an indication that our community is not merely vocal, but also numerous enough for your advertisers to find our offer attractive enough to support our show. We, Moonlight fans, are ready to do this because we love Moonlight passionately enough. Few other shows can offer such fan-bases, irrespective of their ratings: It takes a cult favourite. For our show, for its writers and for its cast, Alex O'Loughlin, Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring and the other wonderful actors who have given so much of themselves to bring us the wonderful gift that is Moonlight, for them we will do this. Beyond the present offer, we are of course open to any other suggestions from the network that would help make broadcasting Moonlight a financially profitable venture.
